Our 103rd Anniversary Dinner Dance was a tremendous success!  Much thanks and credit goes to those that made the night successful, especially Chairman Terry McHugh, Ticket Chairman Jeff Curley, Ad Book Chairman Bobby Shaw, Silent Auction Chairs Dawn Cole, Carolyne Curley and Maryellen McHugh.  Thanks also Kevin Walsh, Jere Cole, Martin Kelly, Eugene Byrne, Charlie Curran, and all those involved with the set-up, reception, 50/50 raffle, silent auction, and ad book. 

The cocktail hour was a welcome addition, and the silent auction was an enormous success.  Thanks to all the members that gave and/or solicited Advertisements for the Journal, donations to the Silent Auction, and purchased tickets.  Again, special thanks to Terry McHugh and Jeff Curley for making the night a success.

Movie   "BLOODY SUNDAY"

Ancient Order of Hibernians Division 9 - Montclair, NJ will be sponsoring a viewing of the movie “Bloody Sunday” on Thursday, March 13th at 7:30PM at the Bellevue Theatre, located at 260 Bellevue Avenue, Upper Montclair, NJ.

This documentary-style drama re-creates the deadly events of Sunday, Jan. 30, 1972, in the Catholic district of Derry in Northern Ireland, where 13 unarmed Northern Ireland Civil Rights Association demonstrators protesting the British internment of Irish citizens without a fair trial were shot to death by members of the British Parachute Regiment. The bloody outcome is credited for re-igniting the decades-long civil war between the Irish and the British and inspiring thousands to join the Irish Republican Army.

West Orange St. Patrick's Day Parade

This Sunday, March 16th we will be participating in the West Orange St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The parade wills begin at 12:15PM sharp at 66 Main Street (near town hall). There will be a mass at 9:30AM at St. Joseph’s Church in West Orange. The parade route goes along Main Street from Town Hall to Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Lets get out and support fellow Hibernians Frank Darcy, Kevin Keogh, Sean McGovern, and Mike Tevlin. Along with the rest of the West Orange Parade Committee, they deliver a great parade every year. Jersey Cares Day  

This year, the Division will be participating in Jersey Cares Day. 

Jersey Cares Day is a day of service where hundreds of people come together to perform service projects in the City of Newark. Last year over 500 volunteers performed over 2,000 hours of service. Projects included painting schools, cleaning public parks, planting shrubs at community centers and much more. We are hoping to spread enthusiasm for this event among other Irish-American groups as well. Friends and family aged 12 and older are welcome to join us. Division 9 member Patrick Lynch will be the "Guest of Honor" at the New Jersey Hurling Club’s Annual Dance. Pat has been a great Hibernian and was instrumental in the success of the Hurling Exhibition last summer.
